It is no surprise that the Cleveland Municipal School District falls below average in many areas of academic proficiency, the worst of which is in science.\u00a0 In step with the new vision of experiential learning for the University, this project aims to combat the problem in the CMSD by helping the high school science teachers develop a demonstration-based curriculum that builds on the experiences and activities of the students.\u00a0 The ultimate goal is to develop lessons that are simple enough to be done year after year with little help or funding, but rigorous enough that the students will improve their overall understanding of the sciences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
