Analytic Derivation of the Distribution of Dark Matter
(started in spring 2010 and finishing in fall 2010)
The distribution of dark matter in the cosmos is not currently known by any analytically derived formula. Previous investigators have been unable to derive such a formula, which would be a useful result for cosmological theorists. Computer simulations of the distribution of dark matter over time will be conducted. The results of these simulations will be compared and added to other published results, such as those of the Millennium N-Body Simulation. These simulations will be used to provide insight into the behavior required of a function describing the distribution of dark matter. With these insights as a guide, we will derive a function for the distribution of dark matter as a function of time, position, and known physical constants.
