A proposal is due towards the end of the first term.  This should be 5-7 pages in a style like that of many scientific proposals.  This will not be posted publicly but may serve as a draft (including “self plagiarism) for the final report.  The adviser is encouraged to help with the writing, but the student should be the primary author.
